walla! in Ikea

i'm back in my blogging mode because i must share this new discovery...the Tarta Mork Choklad, more enticingly called as Almond Cake in Dark Chocolate. discovery by chance and all because of my hubby's friend Henrik. last weekend, friends and i had our weekend lunch date which we decided to have in Carson across Ikea store. after the filling and satisfying lunch our Danish friend mentioned that he wanted to buy some delicacies in Ikea and so we decided to tag along, a good excuse too for a good walk after the heavy lunch. hubby and i have been visiting Ikea tons of times but never did we try their dessert delicacies. so Henrik has been recommending some items and a bit disappointment because the caviar that he loves is not available but there's this box in freezer section that just caught my eyes. it's gluten free, has almond and in dark chocolate... some qualifications of my ideal dessert? yes it is!. following day, i tasted and my!... it's so sinfully good!... the amazing thing is it's not that sweet at all! how can I missed this all this time!. for the tea and coffee lovers like me, it's the perfect pairing.

"sometimes the ones that you're looking for is just right in front of you"... that's my take for this decadent findings. really, do try!

a cup of tea!

in my recent visit to san jose, i discover one thing that my good friend, my family and i have in common... we are suckers of tea. my friend introduced me to tea fusion and she brought me to a store named Teavana, my! i love their tea. bought a pound of it and gave the half to my sister-in-law and they loved it too!

my sister-in-law introduced to me bitter gourd tea and it's damn good too!... at home i would often steep an indian loose tea and a tea leaves of Tetley. there's no harm in trying what others would recommend. why i love tea? i could give tons of reasons but the first top five are...
  1. regulates bowel movement

  2. aids in cleansing our colon

  3. soothing

  4. eliminate gas

  5. good for the skin

aren't these enough reasons?

the splendid Splenda!

figure buster, glucose booster, waist wrecker, diabetics' number one enemy... name it! and it points to the sweetie "sugar".

the taste of sweetness is heaven for me, the reason why i love my dessert, my black coffee with the hint of sweetness and of course my life's sweet indulgence- chocolates! yeah i know, it's worth to be healthy but don't take away the chocolates from me!.. so the way i solved it... i turned to Splenda, a sugar replacement that does not hurt the way sugar does. complements my black coffee, good in baking cakes and the usual ingredients for the sugar-free goods.

this is my way of cutting sugar... simple! and me --- happy!

my bowl of noodle

throw in the spices, dried vegetable bits, pour in some boiling water... walla!.. i got my instant bowl of noodles. a very warm noodle soup is my cravings especially in my time of the month... for a reason ?, i don't really know why. i feel good though... any warm soup can fill a growling tummy. i lulled for a long while in having instant noodles primarily because of the downsides in health aspect. most of them have high sodium content that is not at all friendly for kidney, high sodium intake can cause water retention... hmm not good for our figure which is something i have to figure out how to have one! ...btw and contains msg which is an artificial seasoning that i don't like any of my dish to have.

one day, my husband and i went to Big Lots and i saw this Panda Noodle Bowl... tempting! although having a wise choice is under my thumb now so i ignored for a moment but! i read these things!

0g trans fat, 99% fat free, No Msg, 25% less sodium

what else can i ask for!... i had a satiable company of a very warm bowl of noodle the moment we got home.

my hubby brought a gluten free

the other day my husband bought a rice crackers snacks, Roland brand. it has a wasabi flavor which i like... he's not normally conscious about the nutritional value of the snack foods we buy but i was amazed because outside the pack says- gluten free, fat free, cholesterol free and msg free. i never like msg ingredients at all. it has 110 calories per serving and taste good for me so what's not to like!...

one of the past discusions in the View was the gluten free diet especially for those who are trying to conceive and has difficulty in the process, just like elizabeth and... me!, she tried a gluten free diet as what her ob gyn adviced her and yes it worked!... she presently have two kids and the third is on the way.

being a junkie in a small calorie!... not bad ha!

first bite of Eating Right

a block away from home is a local grocery store called vons. the other day i was roaming around isle after isle to find something that i don't really know what! i have this habit of inferring first what my palate is really craving for. ones i know what i crave, that's what i'll grab but i came to realization that i can no longer continue this or else my butt!. no offense to others, but i DON'T like a big butt!... this is what i would first notice when at times i would glance at women. often times i would utter to myself when i see one that "hell no!... i don't want to have that kind of butt".

i have the power to choose and i will. so, i was browsing in the chips area and a certain brand caught my eye! - 'Eating Right' is the brand of the potato chips and the path i am heading! amazing! i read the nutrition facts and compared it with Lays. it has 110 calories per servings which equal to 28 chips. Lays has 230 for around 20 chips. so there i got the Eating Right potato chips then head off to cashier.

i don't have any complain about the taste, i love it in fact but what made me happy eating it ? ... i gnashed a better choice of junk... for the first time!
